WITH HER “INSPIRATIONAL EVENING OF WORDS AND MUSIC WITH JO DEE MESSINA”
Over 1,500 people were part of a special evening of music, love and giving back this past Saturday evening (12/4) at Brentwood United Methodist Church in Nashville.
Country artist JO DEE MESSINA performed a free Christmas concert for the second year in a row on behalf of Harvest Hands Community Development Corporation, a non-profit, faith-based organization in South Nashville. Concert-goers were asked to donate a “love offering” for this incredible cause and raised over $20,000.
In addition to the audience members who took part in this intimate show whereby JO DEE took requests, answered questions, shared stories and sang with a youth choir, the performance was also broadcast online via www.jodeemessina.com, www.harvesthandscdc.com and www.bumc.net, allowing for additional fans to watch and donate online.
The multi-platinum, award-winning singer/songwriter often donates her time to causes close to her heart. In addition to her continued work with Harvest Hands, JO DEE has partnered with the Special Olympics for several years; this past year performed at multiple benefit concerts including raising funds for Haiti after the deadly earthquake and–even in her own backyard–performing at the Ryman Auditorium to aid in the Nashville flood recovery. JO DEE also hosted a charity 5K run in conjunction with CMA (Country Music Association) Fest 2010 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. More recently, she–in partnership with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation–performed at the Restoring Honor rally in Washington D.C. to pay tribute to America’s service personnel and other upstanding citizens who embody our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.
JO DEE’s latest EP releases, Unmistakable: Drive and Unmistakable: Inspiration are currently available on iTunes and other digital retailers.
