Messina to Headline FOP Country Music Show

Country music artist Jo Dee Messina, on the comeback trail from cancer, is scheduled to perform during a show at the J.S. Mack Community Center this summer.

Messina, who has had nine No. 1 singles on the Billboard country music charts, recently returned to the recording studio after undergoing six months of treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.

The Sept. 6 diagnosis forced the 47-year-old star to cancel the remainder of her 2017 tour after Oct. 7.

“She’s back up and running. She’s back on tour. We’re excited,” said Mike Strineka, co-chairman of the 44th annual country music show set for July 15 at the Mack Park fairgrounds.
