Country music star Jo Dee Messina wowed a Wyoming County Fair audience Sunday night for nearly two hours with her powerful singing and guitar playing.

Michael Varner drove all the way from Harrisburg to see her and said Messina did "just great."

He had seen her about a decade ago in York, when Messina opened for the Charlie Daniels Band, and said she hasn't missed a beat and seems to have improved as the years go by.

He was especially touched that Messina not only gave a great concert but allowed the audience to pick the last four songs with "Because You Love Me" really striking a chord.

For Jo Dee Messina, it is definitely all about the fans. "The fans sustained me through ... the downtime between records by coming to the shows, still checking the website, still writing their letters, always just showing support. That's pretty phenomenal, [especially] when you think how long it was since we've had new material. They're just great. I mean, country fans are as loyal as the day is long. And we need to be grateful for that."

Fans of multi-platinum country music star Jo Dee Messina have waited five years for her new album.

In that time, Messina created enough material for three albums, which will be released by Curb Records throughout 2010.

"My record was done and ready to come out in 2007," said Messina. "There was a lot of chaos and there was a lot of confusion down there at the label, and they weren't ready to do anything with my album."
