The Freedom Festival is excited to announce country music artist Jo Dee Messina will take the stage at Kirkwood Community College, Saturday, June 30, thanks to our sponsors Hy-Vee, KHAK, KCRG and The Gazette! She will be performing with The Hailey Whitters Band as her opening act.

The gates will open at 5:00 PM, and Jo Dee Messina is scheduled to hit the stage around 8:00 PM. Please feel free to bring your own chair or blankets to spread out and enjoy the night. A FREE fireworks display will immediately follow the concert.

The Country Music Association announced the performers set to appear on its free Chevrolet Riverfront Stage during CMA Music Festival, which is June 7-10 in downtown Nashville.

Montgomery Gentry will kick off the series of shows at 10 a.m. June 7.

For a country artist based in Nashville, Jo Dee Messina has been logging plenty of face time on 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.' She first appeared on the Bravo reality series back in January, and tomorrow night (March 18), she'll return for another episode.

Messina will once again be seen working with cast member Kandi Burruss, a Grammy-winning songwriter and former member of the pop group Xscape. In the episode, Burruss journeys to Nashville to record 'I Won't Give Up On You' and 'Money Don't Grow on Trees,' both of which she wrote with Jo Dee and Lil' Ronnie, a song scribe known for his work with Britney Spears and R.
