When word of Jo Dee Messina’s successful, intimate spring Music Room Series Tour spread across the country, the multi-platinum country star scrambled to make room in her fall schedule to add a string of dates for the unique concept in October and November. The tour will kick off Friday, October 23 and 23, 2009 in Ft. Pierce and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, respectively, for an initial run of 14 dates. Tickets for all dates are on sale now, and more shows are expected to be added.

Modeled after her music room at home, critics and fans alike were enamored with the Music Room Series concerts. The tour gave fans a chance to see a side of Jo Dee that is rarely seen in her full band shows. Touring with just three of her musicians, she performed stripped-down versions of her numerous #1 singles, favorite covers and songs she’s written but not yet recorded. Each show was driven in large part by audience requests.

“Taking requests – especially for new material – and answering questions from the audience made it a blast, because literally every show was different. I never knew what people were going to say, but that’s part of what made it so much fun.”

“Will you marry me?” was the most bizarre question asked on the spring tour - especially considering Jo Dee recently delivered her first child - but the cutest question came from a young boy who asked Jo Dee about her favorite animal. “Today, a penguin,” responded Jo Dee, who fired the same question back to the youngster. Whether true or answering under pressure, he confessed a penguin was also his favorite.
