MESSINA TO HELP RAISE AWARENESS FOR ATHLETES WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

Award winning, multi-platinum recording artist Jo Dee Messina was welcomed to the Special Olympics family today as an ambassador for the organization. Included in her role as an ambassador Messina will be a spokesperson for their upcoming 2006 Special Olympics USA National Games, which will be held in Ames, Iowa in July of next year.

Jo Dee Messina has released the rousing, uplifting song, title track from her album, Delicious Surprise.

This past weekend, Jo Dee Messina broke the attendance record at Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, NY (breaking the previous record which was held by Keith Urban). "Jo Dee was incredible. We broke attendance records having her as the headliner. From start to finish she was more than just a singer, she was an entertainer," John Paul WYRK Program Director.

NASHVILLE - The fans may be gone, but the fun never ends at "Country Music's Biggest Party™" CMA Music Festival. CMA, Hi-Fi Fusion and the ABC Television Network are partnered to present 13 webisodes from the event that capture all of the backstage antics, artist commentary, fan reactions and more.

A new webisode will be released every Monday and Thursday beginning today and ending Aug. 1. "CMA Music Festival: Country Music's Biggest Party" a two-hour network primetime special on ABC is scheduled to air Tuesday, Aug. 2 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET).

JO DEE HELPS YWCA RAISE $115,000 AT CELEBRITY AUCTION

Jo Dee Messina, Naomi Judd and many other country stars helped the Nashville YWCA raise $115,000 at a celebrity auction in Nashville on Sunday (June 12), the final day of the CMA Music Festival. Though she founded the auction, Martina McBride did not attend this year due to her pregnancy. Keith Anderson, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jay Teter and Jimmy Wayne also attended the event. Wynonna's personalized black Copley guitar earned the highest bid, bringing in $3,300.

.St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM and Totes umbrellas have partnered to host the April Showers Bring May Flowers online charity auction on eBay. The auction ran from May 17–27, with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Up for bid were umbrellas and flower arrangements from Jo Dee Messina, Brad Paisley, Olivia Newton John, Gene Simmons,  Buddy Jewell, Jennifer Aniston and many others.

JO DEE HANGS WITH THE BUD  TEAM

Award winning country artist Jo Dee Messina hung out with a race winning team at Richmond on Saturday. Taking a break from her No. 1 hit on the country charts and current tour, Jo Dee spent some time with the No. 8 Budweiser team and driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. The crew was wearing “My Give a Damn is Busted” T-shirts and she had on a Bud crew shirt.

She even joined crew chief Pete Rondeau and Richie Gilmore up on the pit box for the entire race. No word if she gave any pit stop or set-up advice to Pete and the guys. Jo Dee will be performing at the Speed Street festival in Charlotte, NC during Race Weeks on Friday, May 27.
